Term paper task
The Japanese government is trying to promote the "Super-City" project. Large amounts of data are collected by cameras and IoT devices in the super-city area so that people can enjoy various services based on the information gathered by such IoT devices.
Google had been planning to run such a project in Toronto called "Sidewalk Toronto." However, they gave up the project because the residents in Toronto did not like the idea and refused to participate, maybe because they had great concern about their privacy issues.
Task:
1. Describe the pros and cons of current approaches to creating a smart city. Examples of recent plans are listed below:
ET City Brain
Sidewalk Toronto
Dubai Smart City initiative
Amsterdam Smart City (ASC) project
2. Invent a new approach to a smart city where residents can enjoy various services using IoT technologies without worrying about privacy issues and costs.
